The course structure of the Interior Design program at Chandigarh University perfectly inculcates a large number of activities like workshops, expert sessions, industrial visits, etc. to nurture the creativity of the budding interior designers and give them industry insight.

The prime objective of the two-day workshop was to develop the graphical presentation skills and visualization abilities. It was indeed an interactive session as students were engaged in creating 3D projections of the living room design on a 2D surface by using different colour schemes, materials, fabricating furniture and more.

In this symposium, various design professionals, practitioners and experts from the field of interior design, architecture & product design carried out meaningful discussions and interactions with our students. A lot of case studies and projects like specific housing issues and large scale campaigns like “Make in India” were discussed during the session. This trip also gave our students a chance to witness the outstanding work of National and International designers from across the globe, while getting acquainted with the latest trends of the field.

On the occasion of World Women's Day the students of the Interior Design Department visited Jyoti Sarup Kanya Asra Trust, Randhawa Road, Kharar and celebrated womanhood with orphan girls by rejuvenating their spirits. They embellished the walls of orphanage home with the power of colours and patterns.

To train the students to have a child's eye for observation, an artist’s taste for beauty and a poet’s expression for emotion which would thereby emulate technical concepts and ideas into reality. To create an atmosphere for the students to discover, develop, deploy and express their Creativity in Photo & video , capturing & editing skills.

The Department of Interior Design organized a one day educational visit for the students of 2nd semester which was coordinated by Mr. Akhil Singh to grow their knowledge on interior design elements and materials.

The students were first taken to the Government Art Museum and Gallery which was designed by the very renowned French Artichect Le Corbusier where they witnessed various styles of paintings from historic as well as contemporary times. They also got acquainted with numerous artefacts from the ancient era. The students were able to get a hands-on experience of the miniature paintings and sculptures that were brought to India at the time of partition from Lahore
The second site was that of an interior furnishing showroom, Supreme Furnishings, which was located in sector 7, Chandigarh. The showroom was under construction due to which the students got to study a live project. They were assisted by the owner and the interior designer of the showroom who told them about the key elements of their design. They further acquired comprehension towards wood as a material which was extensively used in the interiors of the showroom.
