Department of Medical Lab Technology involves its students in interactive sessions, hands-on medical camps, industrial visits, and other related activities to give them industry familiarity. Various activities organized by the department so far are:

The department of “Medical lab Technology” and “Nutrition and Dietetics” (University Institute of Allied Health Sciences) celebrated the World Heart Day.
Guest Speaker Dr. Amit Gupta delieverd lecture on various parameters to identify the heart problem at very ealy stages. He explained the symptoms of heart attack and about the first aid which should be provided at that time. He shed light on the precuationary measures to be taken to avoid the onset of hypertension which actually further leads to fatal heart problems.
Dr. Gupta made aware the students and facuty members about the causative environmental and gentic factors. How the physical activity saves us from the deadly disease, and not only from heart disease but others too like type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome etc.
More than 200 stdents and 15 faculty members from both the departments were present in the seminar.

Various topics given to students included: Stages of metastatic cancer, Haemopoiesis etc. MLT students from all the three semester participated in this competition. Top three winners declared by the judges panel were: 1st position Mr Rajat from 3rd Semester, 2nd position Ms. Sangam from 3rd Semester and 3rd position Ms Tannu Priya, 5th Semester. There are a lot of things for students to learn outside the confines of a textbook; events like these help them explore such avenues and learn through science-fun. We need to encourage more events that have immersive learning and enhance scientific knowledge.

The event was organized centrally. Five Departments- MLT, Nutrition and Dietetics, Forensic Science, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy held various competitions like poster making on the topic Recent Advances in Health, Creative Idea, Crime scene investigation, Health Quiz, Model making. About 250 students from many schools participated in the event like Shri Guru Gobind Singh Public Senior Secondary School, Guru Shakti Senior Secondary School, Khanna, Nankana Sahib Public School, Samrala, Garden Valley International, Bela, Dashmesh School.
The Event Coordinators organized the participants into various teams. The Judging committee from MLT comprising of Dr. Gurjit K. Bhatti, Dr. Isha and Dr. Abhilasha from MLT formulated the result for poster competiton and distributed the prizes to the poster winners. Simultaneously the prizes were distributed for all other competitions.
Chandigarh University Diagnostic Club (CUDC) under the aegis of the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology successfully organized a Medical Check-up Camp on the occasion of Tech Fest at Chandigarh University. During the camp, the students of CUDC performed various diagnostic tests such as Blood Grouping, Blood Pressure, HB, Body Temperature, BMR, Blood Glucose, Pulse Rate, RBC Count, WBC Count, Viral Tests, and ESR.
